Account info
Email, display name, profile photo — via Clerk for sign-in.
Profile
Languages you speak and are learning, country, an optional short bio.
Messages + audio
The text of your messages and the TTS audio we generate for them. Powers chat + your vocab list.
Waitlist
Your email if you sign up before launch.
Diagnostic logs
Request paths, status codes, error messages. No message content in logs.
How we use it
- Run the chat — translate, transliterate, synthesize audio.
- Match you with language partners.
- Save vocabulary items you tap.
- Email you about your account (sign-in, password resets) — via Clerk.
- If you join the waitlist, to tell you when we open up.
Who we share data with
Only the processors we actually need to run the service.
Clerk
authAuthentication and account management.
AWS
infraDNS (Route 53) + infrastructure.
Stripe
billingBilling, when you subscribe (not active yet).
LibreTranslate + Piper TTS
mlOpen-source models that run on our own server. Your messages don't leave flountain for translation.
We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok, or any ad SDK.
No tracking across other apps. No advertising IDs read. No ATT prompt.
Retention + deletion
Delete your account any time
From the profile screen. We delete your messages, vocab, profile, and Clerk identity.
Audio caching
Audio files we generate for your messages stay cached for re-use; purged within 30 days of account deletion.
Backups
Daily snapshots, 30-day rolling retention. Then deleted.
Your data, your choices
- Read what we hold about you via the profile screen.
- Export your data on request — email hello@flountain.com.
- Delete your account at any time.
Children
flountain is not for children under 13. If you're between 13 and 18, please use it with a parent or guardian.
