The service
flountain is a chat app for language learners. We pair you with other users and translate, transliterate, and synthesize audio for every message so you can learn while you talk.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
- One person per account.
Acceptable use
Don't use flountain to:
- Harass, threaten, or solicit other users.
- Send content that is illegal, abusive, or sexually explicit.
- Spam other users or send unsolicited promotions.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to bypass our systems.
- Impersonate someone else.
We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules. See community guidelines for the longer version.
Your content
You own what you send.
By sending messages through flountain you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process them as needed to run the service — translate, transliterate, synthesize audio, deliver to the recipient, save to your vocab list.
Billing
Free during launch
flountain is free to use during the launch period.
If you subscribe to Pro later
Billed monthly via Stripe, renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from the billing portal — access continues until the end of the paid period.
No warranty + limit of liability
As-is
flountain is provided "as is". Translations and audio are best-effort; we make no guarantee they are accurate or appropriate for any specific use. Don't use flountain for safety-critical communication.
Liability cap
To the maximum extent permitted by law, flountain's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 if you haven't paid us.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and notify you of material changes by email.
